Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Raoul de Keyser achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Proloog sold for USD 162,500.00 (€ 144,624.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Raoul de Keyser; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Kalklijn (Chalk Line) sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of EUR 237,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raoul de Keyser erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Proloog für USD 162.500,00 (€ 144.624,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Raoul de Keyser; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Kalklijn (Chalk Line) im November 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 237.500,00.
