Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sonne der Gerechtigkeit (Sun of Justice) by Pipilotti Rist was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Featuring Property from an Important Private European Collection Afternoon Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2011. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,782.28). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pipilotti Rist achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bar in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 127,998.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sonne der Gerechtigkeit (Sun of Justice) von Pipilotti Rist wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Featuring Property from an Important Private European Collection Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.782,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pipilotti Rist erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bar im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.750,00 (€ 127.998,69).
