In October 2020 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Editions Contemporary: Online Auction, which included the work Sonnenaufgang im Land der untergehenden by Pipilotti Rist. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,180.56), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pipilotti Rist achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bar in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 127,998.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Editions Contemporary: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sonnenaufgang im Land der untergehenden von Pipilotti Rist zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.180,56) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pipilotti Rist erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bar im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.750,00 (€ 127.998,69).
