Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Drie Chrysanten by Piet Mondrian was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 56,700.00 (€ 52,837.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Mondrian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 50,565,000.00 (€ 45,993,269.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Drie Chrysanten von Piet Mondrian kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 52.837,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piet Mondrian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.565.000,00 (€ 45.993.269,06).
