Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Piet Mondrian could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Boerderijgevel changed hands for USD 88,200.00 (€ 85,440.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Mondrian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 50,565,000.00 (€ 45,993,269.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Piet Mondrian konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Boerderijgevel für USD 88.200,00 (€ 85.440,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piet Mondrian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.565.000,00 (€ 45.993.269,06).
