This artwork by Piet Mondrian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in February this year. In the Prints & Multiples | Live OnlineAbstractions auction, the work Broadway Boogie Woogie sold for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,443.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Mondrian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 50,565,000.00 (€ 45,993,269.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Piet Mondrian erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples | Live OnlineAbstractions wurde die Arbeit Broadway Boogie Woogie für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.443,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piet Mondrian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.565.000,00 (€ 45.993.269,06).
