The work Chrysant by Piet Mondrian was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. It achieved a price of USD 340,200.00 (€ 319,316.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Mondrian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 50,565,000.00 (€ 45,993,269.06).

Die Arbeit Chrysant von Piet Mondrian kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 340.200,00 (€ 319.316,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piet Mondrian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.565.000,00 (€ 45.993.269,06).
