Despite a disappointment, a good price for Peter Coffin
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Pirate by Peter Coffin for USD 182,500.00 (€ 140,276.71). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Pirate is the most expensive artwork by Peter Coffin that we have observed at auction so far.
