Despite a disappointment, a good price for Peter Coffin
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Pirate by Peter Coffin for USD 182,500.00 (€ 140,276.71). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Pirate is the most expensive artwork by Peter Coffin that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Peter Coffin
Im November 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pirate von Peter Coffin für USD 182.500,00 (€ 140.276,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Pirate das teuerste Kunstwerk von Peter Coffin, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
