Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2018 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Peter Coffin for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,840.91). This price was achieved in the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Coffin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pirate in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 140,276.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2018 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Peter Coffin für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.840,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Coffin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pirate im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 140.276,71).
