Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Coffin could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in April last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell auction, the work Untitled (Goethe's theory of color) changed hands for EUR 1,260.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Coffin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pirate in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 140,276.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Coffin konnte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Goethe's theory of color) für EUR 1.260,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Coffin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pirate im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 140.276,71).
