Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Europe by Paula Scher. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,276.00 (€ 2,723.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paula Scher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Manhattan at Night in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,423.39).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Europe von Paula Scher zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.276,00 (€ 2.723,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paula Scher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Manhattan at Night im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.423,39).
