Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paris by Paula Scher was auctioned at Christies in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,286.75). Admittedly, works by Paula Scher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Manhattan at Night in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,423.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paris von Paula Scher im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.286,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paula Scher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Manhattan at Night im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.423,39).
