In September 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery, which included the work Blue Burning Ii by Norman Zammitt. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,939.18), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Zammitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work South Wall, 1976, which sold at auction in September this year for USD 16,640.00 (€ 15,721.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im September 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Burning Ii von Norman Zammitt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.939,18) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Norman Zammitt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit South Wall, 1976 beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für USD 16.640,00 (€ 15.721,84) versteigert wurde.
