The work Lost Boy by Nicholas Africano was worth USD 14,100.00 (€ 16,218.08) to a buyer in November 2000. This price was achieved in the auction POST WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nicholas Africano; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Woman with Fruit sold at auction in July 2007 with the realized price of USD 27,600.00 (€ 20,129.82).
