Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mickalene Thomas could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Do What Makes You Satisfied changed hands for USD 275,062.00 (€ 256,324.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mickalene Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,830,000.00 (€ 1,500,738.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
