This artwork by McArthur Binion achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Dna: White Painting Ii sold for USD 250,000.00 (€ 224,235.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by McArthur Binion; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot DNA Study: III sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).
