Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pattern Portrait (Cyclist) by Matt Sheridan Smith was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,612.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matt Sheridan Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pattern Portrait (Widow), which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,834.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pattern Portrait (Cyclist) von Matt Sheridan Smith wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.612,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Matt Sheridan Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pattern Portrait (Widow) beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.834,88) versteigert wurde.
