Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Pattern Portrait (Cyclist), 2014 by Matt Sheridan Smith for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,708.53). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online: NYC at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Matt Sheridan Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pattern Portrait (Widow) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,834.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pattern Portrait (Cyclist), 2014 von Matt Sheridan Smith für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.708,53) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online: NYC bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matt Sheridan Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pattern Portrait (Widow) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.834,88).
