Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mark Dion could be acquired at Phillips in New York in November 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary Editions auction, the work Department of Paleontology (Fossil Collection Specimen Collected by M. Dion Gypsum Cast of Mc Donald's French Fries changed hands for USD 188.00 (€ 144.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Dion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Babel in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,175.32).
