This artwork by Mark Dion achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June last year. In the Editions Southampton auction, the work Morelet's Crocodile Project for the Belize Zoo sold for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,323.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700.00. Admittedly, works by Mark Dion have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Babel in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,175.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Dion erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions Southampton wurde die Arbeit Morelet's Crocodile Project for the Belize Zoo für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.323,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Dion auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Babel im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.175,32).
