A top price for Mark Dion - as previously expected
The work Babel by Mark Dion was sold in the TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,175.32), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Babel is the most expensive artwork by Mark Dion that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Babel von Mark Dion wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.175,32) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Babel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Mark Dion, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
