Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Monogramme by María Blanchard was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 145,816.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by María Blanchard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Joueur De Luth, which sold at auction in June 2012 for GBP 457,250.00 (€ 566,184.36).
