This artwork by Manuel Hernández Mompó achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2011. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Pequeña Plaza Con Mercado sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,613.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel Hernández Mompó - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mercado, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 60,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Manuel Hernández Mompó erzielte im Februar 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Pequeña Plaza Con Mercado für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.613,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Manuel Hernández Mompó mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mercado beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 60.000,00 versteigert wurde.
