Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mercado Con Campesinos by Manuel Hernández Mompó was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June 2009. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,602.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel Hernández Mompó - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mercado, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 60,000.00.
