Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Flag by Llyn Foulkes was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,637.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Llyn Foulkes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work My Last Chance in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 106,513.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Flag von Llyn Foulkes kam im September 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.637,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Llyn Foulkes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit My Last Chance im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 106.513,92).
