Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Escritura by León Ferrari was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,604.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by León Ferrari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grafismos, Flores Y Mariposas in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 225,000.00 (€ 201,811.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Escritura von León Ferrari im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.604,37) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von León Ferrari erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grafismos, Flores Y Mariposas im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 201.811,82).
