Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In July last year Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Innocent Flash by Kwesi Botchway. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,940.00 (€ 23,465.99), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kwesi Botchway have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Sofa in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 189,775.85).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Innocent Flash von Kwesi Botchway zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 23.465,99) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kwesi Botchway auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Sofa im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 189.775,85).
