Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work “Eyetricks Illusion” by Kwesi Botchway for DKK 24,000.00 (€ 3,215.75). This price was achieved in the auction Modern art and design at Bruun Rasmussen and was even below the estimate range of DKK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kwesi Botchway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green Sofa in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 189,775.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit “Eyetricks Illusion” von Kwesi Botchway für DKK 24.000,00 (€ 3.215,75) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern art and design bei Bruun Rasmussen erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von DKK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kwesi Botchway erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Green Sofa im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 189.775,85).
