Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Burgundy Scarf by Kwesi Botchway was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 27,720.00 (€ 26,852.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kwesi Botchway have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Sofa in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 189,775.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Burgundy Scarf von Kwesi Botchway wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 26.852,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kwesi Botchway auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Sofa im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 189.775,85).
