Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Cross by Kwesi Botchway was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 189,000.00 (€ 23,453.36). Admittedly, works by Kwesi Botchway have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Sofa in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 189,775.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Cross von Kwesi Botchway kam im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 189.000,00 (€ 23.453,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kwesi Botchway auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Sofa im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 189.775,85).
