Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Bobby by Kurt Kauper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,000.00 (€ 21,105.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kurt Kauper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cary Grant #3, which sold at auction in December 2021 for USD 69,300.00 (€ 61,229.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bobby von Kurt Kauper zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.000,00 (€ 21.105,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kurt Kauper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cary Grant #3 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für USD 69.300,00 (€ 61.229,90) versteigert wurde.
