Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Crib (Clean) by Kaari Upson was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,465.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kaari Upson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Horizon, which sold at auction in October 2014 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 47,882.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Crib (Clean) von Kaari Upson kam im Mai 2015 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.465,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kaari Upson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Horizon beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 47.882,08) versteigert wurde.
