Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Josiah Mcelheny could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First OpenPost-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Halo After Boticelli changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,182.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josiah Mcelheny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work EARLY MODERNISM MIRRORED AND REFLECTED INFINITELY in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 101,905.95).
