Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Istmo (Diptico) by Jorge Macchi was auctioned at Phillips in Bidding Closes in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,463.89). Admittedly, works by Jorge Macchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autorretrato in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,441.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Istmo (Diptico) von Jorge Macchi im April 2019 bei Phillips in Bidding Closes versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.463,89) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jorge Macchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autorretrato im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.441,54).
