A top price for John Walker - as previously expected
In November 2000 Christies in New York held the auction POST WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Oceania III by John Walker. The price achieved of USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,487.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Oceania III is the most expensive artwork by John Walker that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion POST WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oceania III von John Walker zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.987,50 (€ 11.487,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Oceania III das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Walker, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
