Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Walker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2019. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Untitled (Alba) sold for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,359.81) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Walker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Oceania III, which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,487.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Walker erzielte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Alba) für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.359,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Walker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Oceania III beobachtet, die im November 2000 für USD 9.987,50 (€ 11.487,81) versteigert wurde.
