Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Through Cyprus with the Camera, in the Autumn of 1878, London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington, 1879 by John Thomson was sold in the PHOTOGRAPHS auction at Christies in London in May 2001. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,879.66), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Thomson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 354,767.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Through Cyprus with the Camera, in the Autumn of 1878, London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington, 1879 von John Thomson wurde im Mai 2001 in der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS bei Christies in London versteigert.
