Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Thomson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2016. In the Photographs auction, the work Selected Images From 'Street Life In London', C. 1877 sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,295.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Thomson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 354,767.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Thomson erzielte im April 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Selected Images From 'Street Life In London', C. 1877 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.295,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Thomson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 462.500,00 (€ 354.767,72).
