Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2, which included the work Physic Street, Canton by John Thomson. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,883.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Thomson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 354,767.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Physic Street, Canton von John Thomson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.883,89) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Thomson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 462.500,00 (€ 354.767,72).
