Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2009 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Mississauga Sic by John Thomson. The price achieved of CAD 117,500.00 (€ 78,368.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Thomson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 354,767.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2009 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mississauga Sic von John Thomson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 117.500,00 (€ 78.368,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Thomson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 462.500,00 (€ 354.767,72).
