Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Halfpenny Ices; Street Doctor; and The Street Locksmith, all from 'Street Life in London', 1877–1878 by John Thomson was sold in the Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection auction at Christies in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,913.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Thomson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hillside On Big Cauchon Lake - Algonquin Park in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 462,500.00 (€ 354,767.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Halfpenny Ices; Street Doctor; and The Street Locksmith, all from 'Street Life in London', 1877–1878 von John Thomson wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert.
