etching, 1931, on wove paper, the second (final) state, signed, titled and dated in pencil, inscribed 'to my friend Robert Lawson, with my compliments', annotated 'cp' (the edition was 139, there were also 2 printed in 1932 and 9 printed in 1937-8), with wide margins (the left and right margins folded back), pale light- and mat staining, minor soiling, a few pale foxmarks in the margins, mat staining on the reverse, otherwise in good condition, framed

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Venetian Filigree (A. 237; F. 235) by John Taylor Arms was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2003. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,824.00 (€ 2,317.58). Admittedly, works by John Taylor Arms have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Various Subjects in April 2000 with an auction result of USD 11,162.50 (€ 12,281.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Venetian Filigree (A. 237; F. 235) von John Taylor Arms kam im September 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.824,00 (€ 2.317,58) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Taylor Arms auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Various Subjects im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.162,50 (€ 12.281,33).
