The work West Forty-Second Street by John Taylor Arms was sold in the Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century auction at Christies in Sydney in August this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,719.90), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Taylor Arms - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Various Subjects, which sold at auction in April 2000 for USD 11,162.50 (€ 12,281.33).

Die Arbeit West Forty-Second Street von John Taylor Arms wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.719,90) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Taylor Arms mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Various Subjects beobachtet, die im April 2000 für USD 11.162,50 (€ 12.281,33) versteigert wurde.
