In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale Part II, which included the work Winter over the Sea, Greystones by John Jobson. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,765.88), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Jobson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape (Wicklow), which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,813.05).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter over the Sea, Greystones von John Jobson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.765,88) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Jobson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape (Wicklow) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.813,05) versteigert wurde.
