Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Tide Pool, near Green Castle, Co. Down by John Jobson was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 587.50 (€ 818.54). Admittedly, works by John Jobson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape (Wicklow) in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,813.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Tide Pool, near Green Castle, Co. Down von John Jobson im Mai 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 587,50 (€ 818,54) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Jobson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape (Wicklow) im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.813,05).
