In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Cherry Trees in a Sandpit by John Jobson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,524.00), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Jobson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape (Wicklow) in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,813.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cherry Trees in a Sandpit von John Jobson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.524,00) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Jobson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape (Wicklow) im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.813,05).
