Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Vienna, The Hotel Room, March 1999 (From The "How To Sell Your Wife" Series) by Jan van Imschoot for USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,176.10). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Part I and Part II at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Imschoot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vienna, The Hotel Room, March 1999 (From The "How To Sell Your Wife" Series), which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,605.44).
