Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work La tentation de la lumière by Jan van Imschoot. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,626.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan van Imschoot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vienna, The Hotel Room, March 1999 (From The "How To Sell Your Wife" Series) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,605.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit La tentation de la lumière von Jan van Imschoot zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.626,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Imschoot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vienna, The Hotel Room, March 1999 (From The "How To Sell Your Wife" Series) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 13.605,44).
