Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life, 1978 by Jan Groover was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,800.00 (€ 1,360.54). Admittedly, works by Jan Groover have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life Studies in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,170.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life, 1978 von Jan Groover im Februar 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.800,00 (€ 1.360,54) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Groover auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life Studies im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.170,04).
