Executed in 1951-64, this is a proof set aside from the posthumous numbered edition of 50 authorized by Lee Krasner in 1964, there was also a lifetime edition of 25.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Untitled Portfolio (O'Connor/Thaw 1091 - 1096) by Jackson Pollock. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,966.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jackson Pollock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 17, 1951 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 61,161,000.00 (€ 54,187,117.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled Portfolio (O'Connor/Thaw 1091 - 1096) von Jackson Pollock zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.966,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jackson Pollock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Number 17, 1951 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.161.000,00 (€ 54.187.117,92).
